Note to all Market Shoppers Bringing your dogs

Because of an incident last year, the HarborMarket has had to make some rules for dogs to be brought to Market:

• Failure to comply is not an option
• Flexable Leashes are forbidden.
• Keep an eye on your dog at all times
• If your dog starts barking at anything remove him from the market to the grassy areas.
• Keep your dog on a short leash, away from other dogs and people, not all people like dogs! That includes some vendors!
• If someone wants to pet your dog-instruct them one person at a time, and hold out hand so the dog can sniff them, and then gently scratch dog under the chin, not above his head.
• Keep your dog away from small children
• Hyperactive dogs should stay home
• Leave your dog at home on extremely hot days, Tempers are shorter, and pavement is HOT.
• Bring water and clean up bags for accidents.
  • Be aware of your dogs' stress signals:
  • Heavy panting
  • Licking lips
  • yawning
  • turning away
• These are all clues to leave the area.

For our customers who come with retractable leashes who are not aware of the Harbormarket rules, B&J's will have leashes on hand that may be used while shopping. If we approach you as you come into Market please don't attack us.

We do not want dogs to be banned from the market!!!

We'd miss treating your dog like a King or Queen with treats, and don't forget the water bowl........We love it when puppies play in it, and we don't mind if your dog wants to carry it around, we have plenty.
